Therefore, brothers, select from among yourselves seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and wisdom, whom we can appoint to this duty. But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the preaching ministry.”

*A quick note about Acts 6:4; a few other translations (NASB, KJV, NKJV) say “ministry of the word” rather than “preaching ministry”. I believe this is an important note because I don’t want to force what the text says into the conceptual box of what we are familiar with today.
