I think that a person can get addicted to religion just like alcohol, or over-eating, or shopping. Yes God does have all the answers… but there’s a difference between the lengths you are going to, and the place He wants to meet you. Is your current revelation transforming you, or is it just your latest soapbox? Is your current revelation transforming you where it hurts, or where your sin is, or where your family hurts? I’ll say it again, and I’m preaching to myself; there is a difference between the lengths you go to and the place where He wants to meet you. Maybe He wants to take you some place new, a place that will give you a new perspective of your life. There’s a difference between ‘God hasn’t healed this’ and ‘I won’t let Him.’ It’s not that a person is even conscious of this error, no, they are just doing their best to protect what they think they have. You don’t know what you haven’t forgiven, or to say it another way, what you’re still carrying. And it’s not a place you get to simply by willing it. You must let go more. God must be bigger than your perceived failure.
